Apr 6, 2009, 12:42 am The North Stars won the Bronze Medal game today in Burlington by defeating the host team Burlington Eagles by a score of 7 - 5. The North Stars trailed 4 - 2 after the first period, ahead 5 - 4 after two and the final of 7 - 5. Joel McCauley was chosen as game star with a three goals and one assist game. Paul Orlando was in goal for the win. Josh Cerasuolo was selected as the recipient of the Esso/Hockey Canada Most Dedicated Athlete Scholarship Award for the Tournament. Scoring for the North Stars were: 1. Joel McCauley from Tyler Hawdon and Anthony Butorac at 16:55 of the first period. 2. Michael Schug from Patrick Watling and Josh Cerasuolo at 1:51 of the first period while short-handed. 3. Joel McCauley from Brad Pascall and Kyle Paat at 17:23 of the second period. 4. Jake Wright from Joel McCauley and Michael Shug at 14:10 of the second period. 5. Jake Wright from Patrick Watling and Brad Pascall at 10:49 of the seond period on the power play. 6. Apr 4, 2009, 1:20 pm The North Stars lost their semi-final game today 8 - 4 to the Hamilton Reps. The score was 3 - 0 for Hamilton after one period, 6 - 2 after two periods and the final of 8 - 4.
Tyler Lucente started the game in goal but was replaced in the net in the first period with Paul Orlando. Colin Miller was selected as the game star.
Scoring for the North Stars were:
1. Colin Miller from Brad Pascall at 17:45 of the second period.
2. Patrick Watling from Jake Wright at 2:24 of the second period.
3. Brad Pascall from Josh Cerasuolo at 16:52 of the third period.
4. Brad Pascall from Michael Schug at 4:43 of the third period.
Next action for the North Stars is Sunday morning at 10:00am in the Bronze Medal Game. Apr 3, 2009, 4:49 pm The North Stars solidified a spot this afternoon in the Semi-Finals of the Telus Central Region Championships with a win over the Ottawa Jr. 67's by a score of 5 - 3. The game was tied at one after the first period, the Stars lead 4 - 1 after two and the final of 5 - 3.
Paul Orlando was in goal for the win, while Jake Wright was the game star.
Scoring for the North Stars were:
1. Anthony Butorac from Kyle Paat at 5:37 of the first period on the power play.
2. Nicholas Romano from Colin Miller and Brandon Warmington at 8:19 of the second period.
