The Northstars tied the London Jr. Knights this evening 3 - 3. 
With the tie the Northstars finish in first place in the round robin.  Jake Kment was in goal for the win.
Scoring for the NorthStars were:
1. Devin Shell from Jaren Bellini and Ryan Vendramin at 11:20 of the third period.
2. Matt Pinder from Brandon Grandinetti and Ryan Vendramin at 2:40 of the third period on the power play.

Next action for the Northstars is at 10:00am Sunday morning in a semi-final games against the Vaughan Kings.

The NorthStars defeated the Ottawa Valley Titans this afternoon by a score of 6 – 1.

The North Stars opened the London Green Gold Tournament this afternoon with a 7 to 2 win over Ajax-Pickering.

Less than 24 hours after a shootout loss to the Kapuskasing Flyers the NorthStars bounced back to defeat the Flyers by an identical score of 5 – 4, in regulation time. What a difference a day makes with 53 minutes in penalties to the NorthStars last night and 18 minutes to the Flyers, today the two teams had a much lower penalty count with 17 minutes to the NorthStars and 12 minutes to the Flyers.

The NorthStars scored two first period power play goals to end the period up 2 to 0. Kapuskasing came out in the second and scored at 18:39 to close the score to 2 – 1, the NorthStars answered at the 11:11 mark of the period and then again at the 10:19 mark to end the period with a score of 4 to 2. The NorthStars scored at the 18:29 mark of the third to take a 5 – 2 lead. However the Flyers did not give up and scored two power play markers in the third to make it 5 – 4, where it stayed for the balance of the game.

The NorthStars came away tonight with a single point in an overtime/shootout loss to the Kapuskasing Flyers at the John Rhodes Arena.  The NorthStars were fortunate to come away with a point despite the fact that penalties where 41 minutes to the NorthStars and 18 minutes to the Flyers.  Going into the overtime period the Stars were down 2 men, one with a 5 minute major and another with a 4 minute double minor for a questionable intentional headchecking call.
Kapuskasing was first on the board at 14:23 of the first period and it stayed that way until the NorthStars scored at 12:59 mark of the second period.  Kapuskasing stormed back 48 seconds later to go ahead 2 to 1 and that’s how the period ended.  The NorthStars tied the score at 17:07 of the third period then at 11:28 Kapuskasing came back and tied it again.  The NorthStars scored to go ahead 4 to 3 at the 4:33 mark with Kapuskasing scoring at 1:37 to tie it again.  Three of Kapuakasing goals were scored on the power play.
That setup the 5:00 minute sudden victory overtime period, with the NorthStars short two men.  The NorthStars fought off the Flyers to send the game into shootout.
After 12 different shooters the Flyers beat goaltender Brian Kment to win the game.  Kment played outstanding throughout the game and came up big in the overtime and shootout despite the loss.  Matt Pinder had a big night with three goals and an assist, while the single went to Anthony Stefano who also picked up two assists.
